Hanover, MD (May 9, 2022) – Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, announced today the launch of its 2022 Partner Compensation Survey, the seventh biennial study of partner compensation conducted by the firm. The survey is being sent to more than 60,000 law firm partners across the United States. It builds upon the ground-breaking surveys dating back to 2010, the most comprehensive efforts ever undertaken to identify ranges of partner compensation, the criteria law firms use to determine partner compensation, and the satisfaction of law firm partners with their compensation and compensation systems.
The online survey, which is completely anonymous and confidential, was developed by Jeffrey A. Lowe, Global Practice Leader of MLA's Law Firm Practice and Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. The survey is being conducted in partnership with Law360, who is conducting the survey on behalf of MLA to maintain the confidentiality and anonymity of all respondents.
"We are excited to be launching the 2022 survey,” said Lowe. “We created the survey in 2010 to address the dearth of available data regarding partner compensation and satisfaction. The legal community has embraced the survey and now recognizes it as one of the most valuable sources of information. And, significantly, we make this data available to the entire industry for free. This year, we have included a number of questions that address the impact of the pandemic on partners’ compensation, their physical and mental well-being, and their ability to work remotely. We expect a robust response to this survey from both equity and non-equity partners across the country, and we look forward to sharing the results with the entire legal community in September 2022."
