Law school can be hard enough to navigate but throw in two life-altering events and chances are a comeback feels impossible. Jonathan Olinger, who came out as a gay man during his first year at Stanford law school and lost his mother to cancer during his second law school year, found the strength to accept his new reality and solider on. Jonathan Olinger is a Vice President & Senior Associate General Counsel at Global Payments. He leads the enterprise-wide Vendor Legal Team. His primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating both inbound and outbound technology licensing agreements and providing intellectual property counseling with respect to patent and trade secret issues. Jonathan works closely with the Business Technology Services, Merchant Product, and Issuing Product organizations. Jonathan also supports our compliance efforts, working with Global Payments' Privacy Office, the Information Security team, and the Governance, Risk & Compliance team. Prior to joining Global Payments, Jonathan was an intellectual property litigation attorney, focusing his practice on patent infringement and related intellectual property litigation. He represented patent owners and accused infringers in a variety of technology areas, including semiconductor technology, wireless networking technology, telecommunications, and smartphone and tablet devices. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech and earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
