John Boyd, Former Management Consultant and Law Firm Administrative Partner, Joins Major, Lindsey & Africa

Hanover, MD (October 30, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced that John Boyd has joined as a managing director in the Partner Practice Group, based in the firm’s Denver office. John represents individual partners and partner groups in the lateral marketplace as well as law firms engaging in mergers, group acquisitions and office openings.

John joins MLA after nearly two decades of operating his own management and strategy consulting firm where he advised law firm and corporate clients on strategy development and implementation, mergers, managing legal services, and adapting to changes in the legal market. He has lectured nationally and internationally on legal services management and strategy, and for the last 10 years, he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Law School and at the University of Denver Law School instructing students on the formation and management of law firms as well as business development.

Prior to opening his consulting practice, John served as administrative partner and chief operating officer for large law firms including Winthrop Stimson (Pillsbury Winthrop), a New York-based global firm, and Andrews Kurth (Hutton Andrews Kurth), a Houston-based national firm.

John earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from the University of Iowa.
