Bijoya Roy Placed as Flipkart’s Vice President and General Counsel

Hanover, MD (February 4, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, is pleased to announce Bijoya Roy has joined the Legal organization of Walmart as General Counsel for Flipkart Group. Bijoya joins Walmart from Thomson Reuters – Global, where she most recently served as General Counsel of Global Emerging Markets. Her experience developing sustainable legal strategy to drive growth and lead high-performing teams across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Russia makes her a perfect fit for this role. Bijoya will manage all Flipkart Group legal affairs and ensure legal compliance and minimization of legal risk in support of the business objectives.

 Bijoya has held various leadership roles at Tata Housing Development, Asian Paints and Kodak in India and at Thomson Reuters in London, MENA, Africa and Russia. She graduated from LLB Symbiosis Society's Law College in India and holds a postgraduate diploma in European Commission Competition Law from King’s College in London.

Bijoya will be part of the leadership team at Flipkart with functional reporting to Walmart Asia, SVP, CAO & General Counsel.
