Barry Freedman Joins MLA's Partner Practice Group in Boston

Hanover, MD (November 29, 2022) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, announced today that Barry Freedman has joined the firm as a managing director in its Partner Practice Group, based in Boston. Barry works with law firms and law firm partners to guide them through the lateral process and help them make strategic decisions to improve their practices and the firms’ growth initiatives.

“As a lawyer, Barry found that he easily made connections, meeting other attorneys and talking to people in court, and ultimately placing his friends at various firms. Barry has a long track record of building professional relationships with attorneys and helping to advise them on their career goals and opportunities.  He has spent more than 20 years working with law firms and in-house legal departments to develop talent recruitment strategies for lateral partner and associate needs as well as in-house counsel positions. Most recently, he served as director of legal recruiting for Stone Legal Recruiting, and prior to that, he was vice president of Hoffman Recruiters’ Legal Division. Barry began his recruiting career with Group Magellan Attorney Placement. Before that, he spent more than 10 years in legal practice in Boston. Barry received his JD from Boston University School of Law and bachelor’s from Trinity College in Hartford.
