Hanover, MD (AUGUST 07, 2023) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, recently announced that Micah Woody has joined the firm as a managing director of candidate development with MLA Interim Legal Talent. Micah identifies talented interim and contract lawyers as well as experienced paraprofessionals for short-term, temp-to-perm and project-based roles in corporations and law firms.
“Bringing Micah onto the team was an easy choice. Not only did he express a long-term interest in legal recruitment, but his values and interests aligned with the best parts of our team,” explained Nina Houston, Practice Lead—Interim Legal Talent. “From the start, Micah made a standout impression on members of MLA Interim from around the world, proving in his short time with us that he is thoughtful and intentional about building positive, reliable relationships with his candidates and clients at each stage in his career.”
Micah is an experienced corporate recruiter, having started his career nearly two decades ago at Major, Lindsey & Africa’s sister company, TEKsystems, and then moving to Sim-G Technologies, where he recruited IT and technical professionals for positions within various government agencies. Most recently, he was a legal recruiter for Meta, where he partnered with the company’s legal leaders and other leadership to review current and future headcount needs and executed recruiting strategies to fill open headcount with a strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
“As I was searching for the next step in my career, I knew I did not want to leave the legal recruiting space and was introduced to Major, Lindsey & Africa by a former Meta colleague who joined,” Micah said. “Throughout my interview process with the team, I was impressed by the people and gained a strong sense of the support I would receive within the organization, which is what ultimately drew me to join the firm. ‘’
