Wei Chen didn’t always know that she wanted to be a General Counsel, but she sought out roles and projects that would allow her to make a positive impact. Her drive to solve complex business problems led her to found the Atticus Project and take the top legal seat in-house.  In this new episode of GCs in the House, she discusses her career path with Lina Guo, and talks about the obstacles that she faced to make the leap in-house and what it’s like to be a first-time GC. Wei Chen, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Infoblox, is responsible for Infoblox’s legal functions and compliance and governance programs. She has over 20 years of legal experience, scaling operations, strengthening compliance, building strong teams and championing innovations. She joined Infoblox from Salesforce, where she served as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Strategic Transactions. Over her 12-year tenure with Salesforce, Wei built the company’s legal function in M&A, venture investment, real estate and other strategic transactions. Prior to Salesforce, she served as Assistant General Counsel at Sun Microsystems, Inc. and was a corporate associate at Cooley LLP and Skadden.
