Bouncing Back with Tanya Taylor

Agreeing to take a job in a new city and state takes a lot of thought and planning. So, when that new company gets sold a few months into your tenure, you likely feel a lot of emotions. That’s exactly what happened to Tanya Taylor who moved from New York to Minneapolis only to find she would be working through a corporate sale and then out of a job. She shares her journey with Rebecca Glatzer, discussing how she pushed through and bounced back. 


Tanya Taylor
 serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel for Tepper Sports & Entertainment (TSE), owner of the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. In this role, she oversees the corporate legal team while assuming responsibility for all company legal matters for team, stadium and corporate operations.

Taylor most recently served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Radisson Hotel Group Americas, where she led the corporate legal team and assumed responsibility for all company legal matters in the Americas while also handling all secretarial matters for its Board of Directors. She’s also held various legal roles in hospitality, including Vice President, Regional General Counsel, North America at Millennium Hotels & Resorts, along with Vice President, Regional General Counsel, U.S., Latin America & Caribbean for nine years at Wyndham Hotel Group. Outside of the hospitality industry, Taylor also served as General Counsel, Head of Legal & Business Affairs, for a telecommunications and mobile startup, Yonder Media Mobile Inc. in New York City. In addition to her extensive hospitality experience, Taylor has expertise in commercial contract negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, litigation management, employment law, labor relations, intellectual property, and general business and operations.

Taylor is also very active in the community. While working in New York City, she served on EmpowHer, which is a program to make a difference in the lives of teens involved in the Apollo Theater Academy. Currently, Taylor serves as a member of the Board of Directors for The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, MN. Additionally, she is a member of the Fundraising Committee for the City of Lakes Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN, maintains her membership in the Beta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in Newark, NJ, and serves as the Chair of the Programming Committee for the Black Alumni Summit for Georgetown University.
