Craig Stone is Senior Counsel, Intellectual Property + Data Protection at Phillips 66 Company. Craig is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor University School of Law. Mr. Stone has been practicing in intellectual property for more than 19 years. His practice focuses on all aspects of brand protection and other IP-related areas, including licensing, copyrights, enforcement, digital media, software development, information technology, cybersecurity, and data protection.

Craig is currently serving as Treasurer of the IP Section for the State Bar of Texas. This follows a three-year term on the Council for the IP Section and role as Chair of the Trademarks Committee. Craig has been recognized as a leading in-house brand counsel by World Trademark Review in its annual WTR 300 publication (’17 – ‘22) and as a Global Leader for being one of the most influential individuals in the area of trademarks. In 2021, Craig was awarded the Fritz Lanham Annual Trademark Award by the IP Section of the State Bar for significant contributions in trademark law. Phillips 66 was named North America Team of the Year by WTR in 2015 and 2022.

Craig also serves on the Board of Directors for the Hermann Park Conservancy, responsible for one of the oldest and largest parks in the Greater Houston area, where he co-chairs the Corporate Engagement Committee.

He was formally in private practice in the Houston office of King & Spalding where he was the Chair of the Associates Committee and a member of the Hiring Committee.
